Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, April 13.

Does it seem that our country is being turned upside down? Fifty-million babies aborted in the US, marriage between a man and woman being redefined with homosexuality, a 14-trillion dollar debt, a government that is leaning toward socialism, radical Islamists defended while Israel is being abandoned, pornography growing more rampant on the web and TV, and a dumbed-down educational system. The list goes on.

I am not an alarmist. But it is obvious that Simon Peter is not the only one Satan asked to sift. He’s asking for your sons and daughters. He’s asking to sift America and the church.

He’s asking… but he doesn’t have to succeed. Why?

Because the Lord Jesus Himself is praying for us continually. He is ready to give us strength when we come to the end of ourselves.

Our dilemma is the same as Simon Peter’s. We can’t live for God and self at the same time. Dying to ourselves is the first step in Christian maturity. When we stop trying to live for Him, He can start living through us. Let’s humbly embrace the cross and beg for God to rescue us from ourselves before it’s too late.

Dear Lord,

We realize we are in a fight-to-the-death for our spiritual and national heritage. We desperately need Your help. Forgive us for being apathetic. Forgive us for ignoring the battle for our souls. Help us, the church, to rise up in passion and a new commitment to walk holy. Thanks for praying for us.

Let’s pray for our city and country.

Dear Lord,

We pray for all those in authority. Please turn their hearts to fear Your name. Open our country’s eyes to see our incredible need for Your guidance. Forgive us for our rebellion, stubbornness, pride and wayward ways. Have mercy upon our city and our country.

Let’s pray for the global advance of the gospel.

Dear Lord,

Why do the nations suffer? Because they do not honor You. Please watch over the country’s whose leadership is in transition. Raise up mighty armies of born again Christians to influence change in these nations. We declare that “Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen.

Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, April 6.

Thanks so much for praying for us while in Nigeria, Africa. We are thankful for the fruit we saw in many areas. Strangely enough, I appreciate your prayers more now that I am home. Having just returned from our mission to Nigeria, West Africa, I realize again why Jesus OFTEN got alone to pray. Nigeria is filled with many expressions of RELIGION, but fewer know what it is to have a RELATIONSHIP with Christ. Corruption is common and many have lost hope of ever earning more than a couple bucks per day.

In the area we were working, it was mostly Muslim, followed by animists (tree and rock worshipers), followed by white robe Christians (who believe in polygamy and incense) and finally a smaller group of born-again Christians who truly are in love with Jesus. On top of that, our driver was Jehovah Witness, and was trying to convert us. I felt weary from the polytheistic approach to God. I longed for my prayer closet in MY culture.

If Jesus ‘felt’ all our feelings, I understand how he thought it necessary to OFTEN withdraw to be alone to pray. If you and I are going to be ‘in the world but not of it’, we too NEED to get alone with our God OFTEN and let Him pour His culture of love, acceptance and security into our lives. Without His refreshing, we will surely burn out. But in His presence, we will find a rock to lean on and a hope that is eternal!

Dear Lord,

I am so grateful I don’t worship a rock, or a god who isn’t. I am thankful someone told me about You. Remind me of how fragile and broken I am without Your presence. Fill me again with Your precious Holy Spirit. It’s only through Your strength that I can stand strong in a world that is spinning out of control. Thanks for keeping my heart peaceful.

Dear Lord,

Even though we are moving away from Your will in so many areas, I am so grateful for the heritage and accompanying blessings we experience each and every day. Thanks for America, and how she has helped so many countries through the years. Do whatever it takes to bring us back to our first love that our founding fathers shared.

Dear Lord,

My eyes are even further ‘wide open’ as I have seen both the hunger for Your presence, and the spiritual abuse that the enemy is perpetrating in Nigeria. We pray that Your fruit from our crusade would remain. We pray that you would anoint the follow up teams as they are visiting those who have indicated a desire to follow You. Bless the pastors that truly believe and practice Your word. Thanks for all those who supported us in prayer and finances.

We pray especially for the Nigerian elections that are happening all during April. We pray against any and all violence. We pray against voter fraud. And we pray that righteousness will prevail amongst this great people. We declare again that ‘JESUS IS LORD OVER NIGERIA!’ In Jesus name we boldly and confidently pray, amen.

Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, March 16.

My wife recently heard speaker Beth Moore talk about how we should love deeply. She mentioned that not only should we love those close to us, but we should be involved in giving love to those far away who need our help. These are people who can never thank us, yet appreciate our help so very much.

Today we are going to pray for two areas like this: Japan and Nigeria. The recent devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan continue to wreak havoc on these precious people. Churches are suffering beyond our realization. Christians are needed now to rise up and pray and help as God leads.

Second, we will pray for the people of western Nigeria, as Oasis World Ministries travels there next week to conduct crusades and pastor’s seminars. This country of 140 million people is sharply divided between Christians and Muslims. Please pray for our team’s safety, anointing, and fruitfulness.

Let’s pray for Japan.

Dear Lord,

First of all, we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over Japan. No matter how the devil has tried to rob these people through the years, we release the continued move of Your Spirit upon these dear people as never before.

In just a single moment, You have allowed Japan to be turned upside down. Forgive us for thinking we or anyone could be invincible. Draw the Japanese people to a place of spiritual humility. Let them sense Your presence as they cry out to a God they may not even know. Turn this natural calamity into a spiritual triumph. Protect the survivors that have not yet been found. Help the rescue workers, and spare Japan we pray.

Let’s pray for Nigeria.

Dear Lord,

Again, we declare that Jesus Christ is the rightful Lord over the country of Nigeria. We bind every demonic attack that has splintered these dear people. We are thankful that You are drawing many Muslims to a saving knowledge of Your love. We pray Your anointing, protection and blessing upon the Oasis team, Pastor George Bunnell, and myself as we minister in Nigeria, and then in Liberia. We ask for much fruit, and that the fruit would remain. We pray for a remarkable unity of the Holy Spirit among the pastors and leaders who will gather. We thank You for this wonderful open door. Bless the workers now as final preparations are being made. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, amen.

Elisha and his servant were literally surrounded by their enemies who were ready to kill them. Yet Elisha had no fear. Why? He saw beyond the natural into the supernatural. He saw beyond the physical into the spiritual. Once he saw spiritually, all fear left.

Oasis is facing great opportunities, and an occasional challenge. Our temptation is to look in the natural. Our temptation is to fear. Yet when we go to our secret place of prayer we hear God say, “Fear not, I will fight for you.”

Today will you lift up our country, our leaders and Oasis? Thanks for listening to His voice first.

Dear Lord,

Forgive us for forgetting the supernatural. Forgive us for relying on our own strength to solve our own problems. We admit that we do not have the answers to our own problems, much less the world’s problems. Our eyes are upon you, for we often don’t know what to do. Open our spiritual eyes so we can see that You surround us with Your favor and protection.

Let’s pray for our city and country.

Dear Lord,

Thanks for hearing the prayers of millions of Christians in America, and in our cities. We choose not to look only at the natural, but we rest in Your word that tells us the battle is Yours, and that You will fight for us. Help us to endure hardship, and to cling to Your ways instead of our own understanding. We trust You to bring our country to repentance, so we can be healed again.

Dear Lord,

Today we rest in Your favor and protection. We bind every strategy of the enemy that would come against Oasis, and we look to You for continued open doors, and even greater opportunities to see millions come to know You as Savior. Give our team wisdom for every challenge. Open our eyes to see Your solutions. Help never to fear, but to trust that we are in Your hands…. always.

Currently I’m in India and just finished training around 800 Bible college students in the One-Minute Witness faith-sharing tool. I praise God that these students are equipped and ready to put this tool into practice with the people they meet.

During this trip the Oasis team will be conducting two 5-day gospel and healing festivals, leading two 3-day pastors’ training seminars, dedicating 20 fresh-water wells and three churches, and meeting with our 30 national evangelists. It’s a full schedule and we covet your prayers.

Here’s a quick praise report: God continues to bless these beautiful people with miraculous healings. Last night at our festival a man named Daniel came to the stage and explained that he had lost his eyesight during an operation. During the festival, God had restored his vision. Another story is that of an 18-year-old sister who came with her 12-year-old brother. She testified that he had been born with a clenched fist and that during prayer God had opened his hand for the very first time!

Will you pray for those who come to the festivals?

* That God will prepare hearts to hear about the One True God

* That the Holy Spirit will to draw many to true salvation

* Deliverance from occultism and idolatrous spirits

* Pray against Satan’s attempts to block the events

* Good weather for all the meetings

* Favor with the government and local police

Dear Lord,

What you call beautiful and what we call beautiful are often two different things. You said that the least esteemed among men are what you value in heaven. Today we pray for the 30 national evangelists who are bringing “Good News” into unreached and under-reached areas of India. We pray for Your divine protection from radicals. We pray Your financial provision for each of them. We pray for good health and protection for them and their families as they travel to new areas each week. We pray that You would help each evangelist reach an excess of 5,000 decisions for Christ in the coming year. Thank you for their dedication in knowing and proclaiming Your name! Let’s pray for our world.

Dear Lord,

We ask that we could again be a successful part of advancing the gospel around the world. We ask for Your favor, protection, and a strong anointing of Your Holy Spirit as we share with thousands of Bible college students. We pray that they would experience an uncommon desire to share their faith with family, friends, and others with whom they come in contact each day.

We bind every strategy of the enemy, and we loose unity, favor, provision, protection, and fruitfulness beyond our comprehension. We ask that You will accelerate the spreading of Your love through these students.

We understand the idea of ‘forward thinking’…anticipating future circumstances and making appropriate plans.

But Jesus practiced ‘forward praying’…anticipating future answers to His prayers and making appropriate requests.

Jesus prayed ‘in advance’ for those who would be saved in the future through His disciples and then prayed that they would walk in unity, dedicated solely to His Lordship!

Let’s not just pray for the here and now.

Let’s pray for…

• those who will be saved through our witness this year
• those we have not yet met, but with whom we will have divine appointments
• the healing power that will flow through our spirit and through our hands to others
• the greater faith that we will walk in to accomplish ‘greater works’ in Jesus’ name
• Let’s pray like we believe the answer is around the next corner!

Let’s pray for ourselves

Dear Lord,

As we thank You for our own salvation, we also know that we can help others find salvation too. Help us not to settle for spiritual mediocrity. Help us to press into prayer on behalf of others who are yet to be saved, healed, delivered and blessed through our faithfulness.

Let’s pray for our city and country

Dear Lord,

We thank You for what you are going to do in response to our fervent prayers and fasting. When we pray, we “believe that we receive” (Mark 11:24). Thank You that our answers are in process and will arrive in Your timing. We thank You that You are turning America’s heart back to You.

Let’s pray for the global advance of the gospel

Dear Lord,

You said that in the last days You would pour out Your Spirit on all flesh. We thank You that Your Spirit is moving in every country and in every people group. We thank You for a great revival of repentance that is already happening, and will happen like never before. Like a great wave, flood this earth with Your presence again. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, January 26.

Salvation is by faith alone. Heavenly rewards come by both our faith and our works. Those in heaven will only be there through faith in Jesus Christ, but not everyone who is in heaven will receive rewards. Salvation cannot be earned through works, but heavenly rewards can be earned. “And then He will reward each according to his works” (Matthew 16:27b).

Everyone in heaven will enjoy the presence of the Lord, but not everyone in heaven will reign with Him. God gives us salvation freely through faith, but our rewards are earned simply through our faithfulness.

Your faithful prayers in the secret place will be rewarded. God is looking for people who will invest themselves in the secret place of prayer to expand His kingdom and store up riches in heaven rather than seek earthly rewards and treasures. God will not leave you unrewarded.

Dear Lord,

Thanks for the tremendous GIFT of salvation. Help us to not stop there. Help us to KNOW You and PLEASE You. Remind us why we are here on earth, not for our own amusement, but to help others KNOW YOU. We pray that our rewards will be great in heaven, because You gave us the vision to faithfully do Your work on earth.

Dear Lord,

We intercede for our city and our country again. Please forgive us for our rebellion, stubbornness, and wayward ways. We admit that when we don’t see our need for You, we walk in sin and darkness. Shine Your light upon our sinfulness, so that we can see our need for You and repent. Lord have mercy on America, we plead.

We pray that You pour Your Holy Spirit out on ALL FLESH… every race, every demographic, every gender, and all ages young and old. Help us hear Your voice. Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, January 19.

I have heard that we only use about 10% of our brain. If true, this is either a result of Adam’s and Eve’s apple party, or the radiation from our cell phones is rapidly affecting our brains!

We think we know what God is like…but we don’t.

We think we know what God should do…but we don’t.

We think we know our future…but we don’t.

Us ‘know-it-alls’ really don’t know that much. How much of your life has turned out differently than you thought? 80%? 90%?

So, we must know that God’s ways are higher than our ways. His mercies are new every morning. He sends rain on the just and the unjust.

Yes, God will someday judge sin. But don’t throw America away yet. There are many righteous, like you, who are interceding faithfully for our country. And God hears the prayers of the righteous! And He has promised a last days outpouring of His Spirit on all flesh who are hungry for His presence.

He is still ready to pardon!

Dear Lord,

Forgive us for giving up on people before You do. Help us to see others as more important than ourselves. Give us your heart and mind to see others restored to Your love and forgiveness, rather than judging them prematurely.

Let’s pray for our city and country

Dear Lord,

Thanks for hearing the prayers of the righteous. Thanks for your mercies today and everyday. Please hear our prayers for our land. Come and heal us and forgive us and restore us to You and to each other. Heal our family’s wounds. Help our government leaders to rule in the fear of You. Help parents to live a life worthy of emulation by their kids.

Dear Lord,

I am told that 99.7% of America’s charity donations stay in America. Would you give us a heart to ‘go into ALL the world and preach the gospel”? Remind us that every soul of every race is equally valuable to You. Red, yellow, black or white…You died for them all. Help us, the richest nation on earth, to love them ALL for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, amen.
