“Even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen…wash and make yourselves clean…stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:15-17).
The cure for the illness in America is simple. Stop doing what God calls wrong, and start doing what God calls right. That’s all!
I humble myself and ask Him to cleanse my wrongs, and give me courage and wisdom to live right and clean.
When a doctor holds up an x-ray and informs his patient that the dark cancer spots will kill him, the doctor is not judging the patient. He is simply diagnosing the problem. God simply tells us that sin will kill us. Then He offers the only treatment that works against sin…His forgiveness.
Let’s ask God to speak so strongly that His cure for America will be evident to all.

1. Let’s pray for ourselves…
Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. Give me strength to stop doing what is wrong, and courage to do what is right. I need Your strength now.
2. Let’s pray for our city and nation…
Forgive our city and land for ignoring Your ways. We have crossed the line and broken Your heart with our willful disregard for Your plan for our lives. Please do whatever it takes to awaken our collective conscience again, and give us the will to humble ourselves before Your love.
3. Let’s pray for the global advance of the gospel…
I never thought I would need to pray this, but today, I ask that You send missionaries to America. Save us from our spiritual blindness. Bring godly men and women from other lands to awaken our spirits and arouse us to willful humility. In Jesus’ name, amen.
